Sentiment in Pink

De afbeelding van het schilderij dat als inspiratie heeft gediend voor dit moodboard is eigenlijk een beetje verdrietig. De schilder Emile Friant heeft een begrafenisstoet geschilderd. Maar toen ik er voor stond was ik direct gebiologeerd. Wat een realisme. Het lijkt wel een foto, maar het schilderij is in 1888 (!!!) gemaakt. Ongeloofelijk. Het schilderij heb ik gezien in de stad Nancy in Frankrijk in het Musee des Beaux-art de Nancy. Wat was dat een prachtige expositie van de schilder.

Eenmaal terug van de vakantie thuis wilde ik meer weten van de schilder Friant. In 2006 was er nog niet zoveel te vinden over hem. Nu bij een recente zoektocht op het web lees ik dat er in 2010 een boek over hem is verschenen: Tot ziens, meneer Friant, door de Uitgeverij Vrijdag/Bezige Bij.

Omdat het over rust gaat, heb ik gekozen voor een klassieke slaapkamer. De kleur van Histor heet 'Gevoel' en het lijkt wel gemaakt voor dit moodboard. Daarnaast heb ik een donkere kleur uitgekozen, niet diepzwart maar een de Doka kleur van Histor.

The painting that has served as inspiration for this moodboard is actually a little sad. The painter Emile Friant has painted a funeral procession. But when I stood before the painting, I was mesmerized. What a realism. It looked like a picture, but the painting was made ​​in 1888 (!). Unbelievable. The painting was one of an exhibiton of the painter in the city of Nancy in France at the Musée des Beaux-Art de Nancy.

Back home from the holiday trip, I wanted to know more from this painter Friant. Back then in 2006, there was not much to be found on the web. In a new search, you will find that there is a book published in 2010 about him: Goodbye, Mr. Friant, by an Dutch Publisher: Uitgeverij Vrijdag/Bezige Bij.

Because the painting is about peace, I opted for a classic bedroom. The color of Histor called "Sentiment" and it seems to be made for this moodboard. I also chose a dark color, not deep black but the color of Chambre Noire from Histor.

Monday Moodboard #4 - painting Tuxen

De kleurencombinatie  - donkerrood, warm oranje en beige geel-  komen uit het schilderij van Laurits Tuxen. Het is de kroning van Tsaar Nicolaas II, het schilderij hangt in de Hermitage Amsterdam. Wat me vooral aantrok in het schilderij is het lichtinval. In de afbeelding is dat natuurlijk minder goed te zien, maar het leek of er daadwerkelijk zonnestralen schenen op het schilderij.

The color combination - red, warm orange and yellow-beige is inspired by the painting of Laurits Tuxen. It is about the coronation of Tsar Nicholas II, the painting is in the Hermitage in Amsterdam. What particularly attracted me in the painting is the light. You cannot see it very well in the image, but in real it is very beautiful.

Monday Moodboard #3

Sinds de verbouwing van mijn eigen huis, ben ik van stijl veranderd. Voorheen wilde ik alles alleen maar wit hebben, nu komt er meer kleur in het interieur. Het blijft wel sober, door zwart en het gebruik van hout. Het moodboard dat ik heb gemaakt vind ik prachtig. Ik hou van deze stijl. Vintage, maar strakke lijnen. In mijn eigen interieur heb ik het echter minder sober als in dit moodboard.

Het schilderij wat als inspiratiebron heeft gediend voor dit moodboard heb ik gezien in het Kroller-Muller museum. Het is van de schilder Isaac Israels en het heeft als titel:"Het transport der kolonialen " uit 1883. Wanneer je het schilderij in het echt ziet, zie je pas alle details en alle gezichten goed.

De kleurstalen zijn van Farrow & Ball, Print Room Yellow 69 en Off-Black 57. Zo'n zelfde kleur zwart heb ik onlangs op de muur geverfd. Het staat prachtig!

Since the renovation of my own house, I changed my style. Previously, I only wanted the whites in my home.  Now there is more color in my interior. It remains sober, because I use more black and wood. I love this moodboard because I like this vintage style.
 
I've seen the painting in the Kröller-Müller Museum. It is from the painter Isaac Israels: "The transport of colonials" from 1883. When you see the painting in real life, you will see everything in detail.

The color swatches are from Farrow & Ball, Print Room Yellow 69 and Off-Black 57. I recently painted one wall a similar color black. It is beautiful!

Monday Moodboard #2

Deze maandag heb ik gekozen voor het schilderij dat ik gezien heb in Tate Gallery in Londen. Het is van de schilder John Singer Sargent en heet Lily Rose. Zijn inspiratie voor dit schilderij ontstond tijdens een boottrip dat de schilder ondernam op de Thames in Pangbourne in 1885. Tijdens deze tocht zag hij de Chinese lantarens hangen in bomen en in de lelies. De kleurencombinaties vind ik prachtig in het schilderij en de lantarens en het gras zijn prachtig in detail getekend.

Voor de kleurencompositie heb ik gekozen voor de verfstalen van Farrow and Ball. Het oranje rood (Charlotte's Locks 268) als accentkleur, het zeeblauw (Dix Bleu 82) en het zachte grijs (Manor House Gray 265) vormen de basis van het moodboard.

Moodboard Mood & Wonen - painting Lily Rose

This Monday I chose the painting I've seen in the Tate Gallery in London. It is by the painter John Singer Sargent and called Lily Rose. The inspiration for this painting came during a boating expedition the painter took on the Thames at Pangbourne in 1885. During the boottrip he saw Chinese lanterns hanging among trees and lilies. I found the color combinations beautiful and the lanterns and the grass was beautifully drawn in detail.

For the color composition I chose the paint from Farrow and Ball. The orange red (Charlotte's Locks 268) as an accent color, blue (Dix Bleu 82) and the soft gray (Manor House Gray 265) form the basis of the moodboard.

Monday Moodboard #1

Elke maandag vind je op mijn blog een zelfgemaakt moodboard. Voor de komende weken kies ik één thema. Dit keer heb ik gekozen voor mijn inspiratiebron; een schilderij. Elk museumbezoek sluit ik af met de hoop dat er een kaartje is van mijn meest favoriete schilderij van die dag. Vandaar deze serie, die gebaseerd is op schilderijen die indruk op mij hebben gemaakt.

Met dit ansichtkaartje van het schilderij van Akseli Gallen-Kallela van Lake Keitele begon de schilderij-ansichtkaarten collectie. Inmiddels heb ik al tientallen kaarten. Dit schilderij heb ik in 2005 in de National Gallery van London gezien. Vooral de strepen op het water vond ik bijzonder; wie of wat heeft ze gemaakt? De wind of en bootje? Of iets onder het water? Het schilderij laat stilte zien,  complete stilte. Vandaar de blauw en groene kleurencombinatie.

This postcard card of the painting Akseli Gallen-Kallela Lake Keitele started the collection of painting postcards. This painting was seen in 2005 in the National Gallery of London.  I choose the painting because of the stripes on the water. Who or what made ​​them? The wind or an boat? Or something under the water? The painting shows complete silence. I choose the blue and green colour combination of the paining.
